Today’s projects are a cute treasure chest I thought the theme of the little pirate duck from the Birds of a Feather stamp set was so cute I created a treasure chest to fill with little treats. I made a cute and simple card to coordinate for a cute little gift set.
Card instructions:
Card base crumb cake card stock measuring 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4“. Very Vanilla card stock measuring 51/4″ x 4 1/8″, Pressed Petals Specialty Designer Series Paper measuring 5″ x 4″. Scrap Basic Black card stock
On scrap pieces, a Very Vanilla cardstock stamp the sentiment “hey there pumpkin” from the Harvest Hellos stamps set. Stamp the sentiment “trick or treat” four times using Pumpkin Pie ink the sentiment comes from Birds of a Feather stamp set. Using your paper snips cut out the sentiments three of the trick or treat sentiments cut only the word “treat” out.
Using the Stitched Shaped Dies to cut out the smallest circle and the smallest oval. Attach sure “hey there pumpkin” to the oval and your “trick-or-treat” sentiment to your circle.
On additional scrap piece a Very Vanilla cardstock stamp the pumpkin from the Harvest Hello stamp set using Pumpkin Pie ink. I then colored it in using the light Pumpkin Pie Stampin Blend Marker then punch it out using the Apple builder punch.
Glue your pumpkin down onto your designer series paper I added the hey there pumpkin above the pumpkin the trick or treat sentiment to the left side then randomly up and down add the treat. Glue your designer series paper onto your Very Vanilla card stock layer, then I attached some Moss Meadow Linen thread to the left side. Glue these layers down onto your Crumb Cake card base.
Treasure Box Instructions:
Supplies: a piece of Crumb Cake card stock cut 8″ x 10 1/2″. Score on the long side at 2″,4″, 6″, 8″, 10″. Score on the short side at 2″, 6″. Wood Grain from Pressed Petals Specialty Designer Series Paper Measuring 4″ x 2″, 1 1/2″x 4″
On the long side cut out each of your score lines up to but not passed the next scoreline. Varnish all your edges using a bone folder. The edge with the smaller half-inch scoreline the first box gets cut out completely on each side. Now with your box flap at the top, you will have six tabs going down each side, fold in the four center tabs place glue dots on the top the two top tabs and the two bottom tabs will remain flat with two glue dots in the center of each.
Glue the first tab to the third tab then the second tab will go glued now bring over the tab closest to the lid take the outer corner and match it to the side corner. Repeat on the other side. Your box is now complete now to decorate glue all your pieces of designer series paper to the outer part of the box, I decided the sides needed covering as well so then I took the box flipped it on its side traced around it onto the designer series paper then using paper snips cut it out just inside your pencil line repeat for the other side.
On a scrap piece of Whisper White cardstock stamp your sentiment “trick or treat”using Memento ink I cut it out using the smallest of the Stitched Rectangles Dies.
On a scrap piece of Very Vanilla cardstock stamp the little pirate duck image from the Birds of a Feather stamp set using Memento ink, I then colored in the duck using the Stampin’ Blends Markers.
On a scrap piece of Silver Foil paper, I took Stazon ink and dragged along the foil to create A metal look. I cut eight pieces 1″ long by 1/4″ inch wide folded it in half glued to the back and placed it on the treasure chest sides. I then took three of the anchor trinkets from the Sail Away Trinkets using glue dots adhered them to the front of the treasure chest. Glue your duck image and your sentiment to the top of the treasure chest. I colored a few Rhinestones using the Black Stampin’ Blend Marker and adhered to the sentiment.
The projects are complete!

Danette, I love both the treasure chest treat box and the matching card! Thank you for sharing the directions for the treat box. We are raising our 10 year old Grandson that has Aspergers, and I am going to give this box a go to make for him! It’s adorable and I gonna try making it for him! Thank you for giving us the directions so we can all make one or more for those special little people in our lives!
